New Lesson Release: Formation of Stars ✨

A graphic featuring the title 'Stardust to Storytellers: Formation of Stars' over a background of a starry sky, emphasizing themes of education and astronomy.

One of the most magical things we can teach our kids is that we are made of stardust. Long before Earth existed, stars were already at work creating the elements that would one day make up everything we see around us—including us!

I’m excited to share that I’ve just released a brand-new lesson in the Stardust Storytellers series: Formation of Stars.

This unit combines science, storytelling, hands-on activities, and literacy practice to make big ideas about the universe accessible and meaningful for learners of different ages.

What’s Inside

The core lesson materials and some printables are available for free here on Rabbit Hole Learning, so anyone can jump in and explore star formation. These include:

  • The Story of Stars (original narrative text)
  • Discussion questions for both lessons
  • Hands-on Play Dough Stars activity
  • Rabbit Holes into art and culture, like Van Gogh’s Starry Night and global star myths
  • Ready-to-use 2-day and 4-day schedules, making it flexible for homeschool or classroom use.
  • Instructions for all optional ELA activities
  • Formation of Stars Flipbook printable

For families and educators who’d like to go deeper, the expanded resource pack on Teachers Pay Teachers adds:

  • Printable guides for Level 1 & Level 2
  • Optional ELA Printables
  • Answer keys for all printable activities

Why It’s on Teachers Pay Teachers

I’m committed to keeping the Rabbit Hole Learning website ad-free so families and educators can focus on learning without distractions. Hosting and resource creation take time and money, so selling the additional printables through Teachers Pay Teachers helps keep this site running.

I never want cost to be a barrier. If the TPT price is out of reach for you, please contact me at admin@rabbitholelearning.org and I’ll work with you to make sure you can access what you need.

Where to Start

Thank you for supporting Rabbit Hole Learning! Your support helps me continue creating high-quality, secular resources for homeschoolers and educators everywhere.

And don’t forget: the next time you look up at the stars, remember that they are part of your story too!
