New Resource: Homeschool-Friendly Guide to Illustrative Mathematics Algebra I (Rough Draft)

Graphic featuring the title 'Guide for: Algebra I' with a subtitle 'Aligned to Illustrative Math Utilizing Khan Academy' against a colorful background with numbers.

I’m excited to share something I’ve been working on: a homeschool-friendly version of Illustrative Mathematics Algebra I. If you’ve ever looked at the official teacher materials and felt overwhelmed, this guide breaks the course down into a simpler, easier-to-follow format designed for families learning at home.

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  • Most lessons use Khan Academy videos and practice problems, so your learners gets clear explanations plus interactive practice.
  • Canva templates for missing lessons – For topics that Khan Academy doesn’t currently cover, I’ve created templates you can use right away.
  • Free teacher resources – I still recommend signing up for a free teacher account with Illustrative Mathematics to access teacher guides, assessments, and printables.

Right now, the guide is still a rough draft. Everything through Week 15 is complete, and I’ll continue updating as I create the rest of the slideshows and resources. You’ll also notice notes marking lessons that don’t yet have slides.

I’m sharing this early because I know so many families want to start using Algebra I now, and I’d love to hear your feedback as you try it out. Your thoughts will help me refine and improve the final version.
